Songs by Robert Schumann and others

In the season's first gallery concert, baritone Ludwig Mittelhammer returns to Stuttgart - as winner of the 2014 International Competition for Art Song Stuttgart, which he won together with his duet partner Jonathan Ware. Since the 2019/20 season, he has been a member of the Gärtnerplatztheater ensemble in Munich. In 2025, he made his debut at the Vienna State Opera as Papageno in Mozart's "The Magic Flute".

This time he is accompanied by Brazilian pianist Marcelo Amaral.

About the venue: Staatsgalerie Stuttgart

The Staatsgalerie Stuttgart is one of Germany's most visited art museums, housing a collection that spans from the 14th century to the present day. Its striking New Building, designed by James Stirling and opened in 1984, is a landmark of postmodern architecture. The museum holds major works by Rembrandt, Monet, Picasso and Joseph Beuys, among others, and regularly hosts large-scale temporary exhibitions.
