The second founder's concert of the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra in honour of Wolfgang Carl Friedrich Grosse and Renate Elly Wald takes place in the White Hall of the Neues Schloss Stuttgart. The Wolfgang Carl Friedrich Grosse & Renate Elly Wald Foundation, established in 2023, supports classical music and enables projects such as the "Beethoven Project" and this concert series in cooperation with the Concours Reine Elisabeth.

The spotlight falls on Ettore Pagano, who won first prize at the Concours Reine Elisabeth 2026 - one of the world's most prestigious music competitions, which annually honours a different instrument. 2026 was the year of the cello. Born in Rome in 2003, Pagano has already received numerous awards and performs the solo part in Schumann's Cello Concerto in A minor op. 129, a late work by the Romantic composer that remained unpublished during his lifetime.

The concert is framed by Bach's Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B minor BWV 1067 and Mendelssohn's early Symphony No. 9 in C major "Swiss" - two works that unite the evening's programme: Mendelssohn rediscovered Bach for the Romantic era, and his early mastery deeply impressed Schumann.
