Tryout: Loom
FITZ Das Theater animierter Formen, Stuttgart, Germany

In a wooden dollhouse, order prevails: every day, everyday objects perform the same ritual work to dye a red thread. But harmony shatters when a paint tube in a secret room becomes the victim of violence. While the victim desperately tries to name the danger, the community remains in denial.
Mara Jawetz's wordless object theatre addresses sexual violence and post-trauma. Through contact microphones, the movements of objects transform into a surreal soundscape that mirrors the inner state of the characters. Inspired by Hannah Arendt's "banality of evil," the piece questions the complicity of a community that enables systematic violence through silence.
