Fairy tales and ghost stories of the Black Romanticism
Vampires and ghosts, wicked stepmothers and demons - Gothic Romanticism gave the grotesque a sublime beauty and probed the dark recesses of the human soul. Katharina Thalbach and The Beauty of Gemina bring spectral figures and stories of the Black Romanticism back to life - from Bram Stoker and Edgar Allan Poe to Heinrich Heine.
Thalbach brings fairy tales and literary texts to life with playfulness, wit, and linguistic brilliance. Singer-songwriter Michael Sele moves between worlds with his songs and compositions: dense, hypnotic sounds full of dark elegance. He is joined by cellist Stefania Verità, internationally known for her intense interpretations.
A production by Agentur Furler Productions.
