Book premiere with Andrea Profetto, moderated by Lotta Mayer
"They lie on the carpet in their room and blow bubbles with chewing gum over their faces."
It is summer in a small German town where Carla grows up with her sister Nora. Friendships, parties, secrets, first loves - all the things that occupy teenagers. Her mother Monika holds everyday life together, organizes, cares. Everything seems normal. But Carla senses: something is wrong - long before she finds words for it.
In her debut "Irgendwann verglüht die Sonne," Andrea Profetto explores questions of body and identity, power and vulnerability. Profetto, born in 1995, lives in Stuttgart and co-curates the series "zwischen/miete. Young Literature in Stuttgart WGs" with Jule Steinmetz.
