Notre-Dame - A True Story
Brandenburger Theater, Brandenburg an der Havel, Germany
16.4 €
A dream play based on Victor Hugo's "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame"
Outside the gates of Notre-Dame, a young Sinti girl sells souvenirs; behind the cathedral walls, a priest lives in his own world. During a solar eclipse lasting only seconds, both drift into dreams of times five hundred years past and enact a story of love and death - for in our dreams live the stories of our blood, and blood is a river into the past.
A vain captain who loves only himself. A priest who denies love. A creature no one wishes to love, and a woman seemingly made only for love. All go astray because there appears to be no other path for them - only a narrow thread of love winds through time, which we often can only touch in dreams.
