"Roses Bloom at Night...!" - Duo 'con emozione' - Castle Courtyard Concert

500 years of roses in music and literature - their symbolism and the answer to the question: "Why do roses have thorns?"

The duo 'con emozione' presents songs, melodies, texts and anecdotes about the rose - historically grounded and lively. Works by Handel, Konopacki, Mozart, Schubert, Cornelius, von Dalberg, Fietzke, zu Eulenburg, Hiller and Zelter will be heard. A small selection of pieces that invite sing-alongs: "Sie gleicht wohl einem Rosenstock", "Ros und Lilie", "Letzte Rose", "The Rose" and "Guten Abend, gut Nacht!".

Between the pieces, Liane Fietzke tells anecdotes about the poets and composers as well as the history of how the works came into being.
