Artistika meets ZMF - ZMF Freiburg

The acclaimed Swiss circus arts festival Artistika, based in Visp (Valais), comes to Freiburg im Breisgau on 26 July 2026 under the title Artistika meets ZMF. The festival, dedicated to top-tier contemporary circus arts, presents a spectacular variety gala featuring internationally award-winning performers under a big top.

After ten successful editions gathering the international variety scene in Switzerland - and celebrated guest appearances under the Artistika meets friends format - Artistika now makes its debut at the Zelt-Musik-Festival.

Artistika meets ZMF promises an evening that pushes the limits of human physical mastery. The programme spans acrobatics, juggling, comedy and music. Among the performers are Cirque du Soleil star and BMX specialist Rob Alton, aerial acrobat Linda Sander, and the acrobatic duo Chris & Iris. Standout highlights include the high-energy Chaos-Theater Oropax and world-renowned clown Peter Shub.

The evening is rounded out by a foyer exhibition featuring selected works by multi-award-winning sculptor Benjamin Georgeaud, who also designs the Artistika trophies. Alongside his sculptures hang black-and-white photographs by Klaus Polkowski, who has documented the acrobats at Swiss editions of the festival.
