Laura Braun - ZMF Freiburg

Once a well-kept secret in Freiburg, singer-songwriter Laura Braun has long since made a name for herself far beyond her home city with her melancholic, socially conscious and thoughtful songs. She had already collected a string of awards before her debut album even came out. Now the moment has arrived: Laura Braun presents her long-awaited debut Vom Weg ab - right where it all began, in Freiburg.

Vom Weg ab is more than a collection of songs. It is an unflinching yet tender account of a journey that doesn't shy away from dark places, addressing themes like poverty and depression head-on while holding on to courage and hope. That journey starts on the streets of Freiburg, where Laura Braun once cycled her stage piano to small pub gigs, and after extensive solo tours at the grand piano it brings her back home. In the Badische Zeitung tent at ZMF, she will perform her 2026 debut album live for the first time in full band formation, joined by all the musicians who played on the record.

Laura Braun's concerts are always an event in themselves - but this release show at ZMF promises to be a landmark moment for Freiburg's music scene.
