Director James Buddy Day on the film: "For forty years, NOFX has built a career on behaving in ways nobody expected of them. They weren't the biggest punk band, weren't the most famous, and they were never, proudly, the most refined. But they were absolutely the punkest - if that's even a word. That alone makes their story worth telling.

What fascinated me most about NOFX wasn't the mythology of punk rock. It was the contradiction at the band's core. On stage they could be crude, offensive, self-destructive, and usually drunk - but always damn funny. Off stage they quietly built one of the world's most successful independent music empires and made songs that spoke to millions of people searching for something real.

This film is neither a love letter nor a takedown. It's something far messier. The band members don't always agree on what happened, and the truth of NOFX lies somewhere in these competing versions of events. What captivated me most was how memory works in a band that's been together this long. Everyone remembers the same moments differently. Old grievances surface. Jokes become confessions. And the line between myth and reality blurs.

NOFX has spent its entire career telling the world exactly what it thinks - whether it was a good idea or not. So the only honest way to make this film was to let them do the same here. No clean documentary bullshit. Just four people trying to explain forty years of friendship, success, resentment, and survival.
