Steinbruch Tour — Museumspark Rüdersdorf, Rüdersdorf bei Berlin

Steinbruch Tour
By all-terrain vehicle into the quarry

What makes Rüdersdorf such a special place in Brandenburg is a gift of nature: amid the sandy surroundings of Berlin, a gentle limestone hill rises that has stood out in the otherwise flat landscape for about 800 years. The stone was quarried and used as a building material. In the 16th century, Rüdersdorf was already producing burnt lime - and from 1885 onwards, cement. Museumspark Rüdersdorf is the world's only historical limestone and mining complex preserved in such diversity.

Our Steinbruch Tour travels by all-terrain vehicle along the edge of an active limestone quarry. The tour offers many fascinating and unique insights into quarrying operations, told engagingly by our guides. Beyond the unique geology, you'll see the massive machinery at work in the quarry.

For safety reasons, unfortunately, getting out of the vehicle in the quarry is not permitted.
Tour duration: approximately 1 hour
Minimum age: 6 years.
Please arrive approximately 10 minutes before the tour begins at the ticket office of Museumspark Rüdersdorf, Heinitzstraße 9, 15562 Rüdersdorf bei Berlin.
