An adaptation by MediaBühne Hamburg based on Robert Louis Stevenson: London, 1886 - the popular and ambitious Dr. Jekyll experiments with forbidden substances and transforms into his malevolent alter ego, Mr. Hyde. Soon London is plagued by a series of brutal murders. In his timeless classic, Stevenson (Treasure Island) delivers an intelligent, subversive critique of repressed Victorian society, whose suppressed passions form the tragic foundation of his protagonist. Despite - or perhaps because of - these socially critical undertones, "Dr. Jekyll" was a major success during the author's lifetime and remains to this day the most prominent embodiment of the doppelganger motif in comics, film and literature.

MediaBühne presents this world-famous story in an expanded version featuring a specially developed vintage-style animated film, a lavish orchestral soundtrack, and a lighting concept synchronized with both film and music. The projection art theatre moves between theatrical cinema, live synchronization and staged reading - driven by vocal intensity and brilliant projections in a live-editing concept.
