Peter and the Wolf - A Concert for Deaf and Hearing Audiences — Albert-Einstein-Forum, Kaarst

A concert for deaf and hearing audiences that provides people with hearing impairments an unusual access to classical music.

The programme features the musical tale "Peter and the Wolf" - a narrator and symphony orchestra guide listeners through the piece, which introduces children to the instruments of the orchestra. Also performed are the Adagio from Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquín Rodrigo with flugelhorn as the solo instrument, Odissea Veneziana by Rondo Veneziano, and "Palladio" by Karl Jenkins. The story is presented on both performance days by a sign language interpreter and narrator. Special sound technology, speakers, and effects enable people with hearing impairments to perceive the music.

People with hearing impairments receive a free ticket upon presentation of proof - by phone at 02131-987 384 or in person at Kaarst City Hall.

Disclaimer: The concert takes place at exceptionally high volume. Participation is at your own risk; the organizer assumes no liability for health damage - particularly hearing damage - unless it results from intentional or gross negligence. Hearing protection is distributed at the entrance; hearing audiences are advised to wear it.
