Marie Giroux brings a Viennese operetta evening to Bad Wildbad on Sunday, 20 September 2026, at the Königliches Kurtheater. This is one of four German dates on her autumn tour. The theatre, built in the late nineteenth century for royal guests of this Black Forest spa town, now serves as the main stage for the Rossini in Wildbad festival. A mezzo-soprano and tenor perform music by Strauss, Lehár, and Offenbach, interspersed with anecdotes and curiosities from an era when operetta was rarely politically correct but all the more entertaining.
