Aysun and Ece are trapped in the rubble of a psychiatric hospital destroyed by an earthquake. Their struggle goes far beyond physical survival - it pulls them into a psychological confrontation with themselves. Though they appear to be two distinct characters, the tension building between them is in fact a reflection of a conflict within a single mind. Ece's mocking, fearless and ruthless manner is the outward expression of Aysun's suppressed anger, fear and guilt.
As time passes, hunger, thirst and the fear of death erode Aysun's mental defences. Ece draws out her darkest memories one by one: childhood traumas, violence, accidents and murders... Each confession severs Aysun's grip on reality a little further, while Ece grows stronger.
In the finale, the inevitable arrives. To survive, Aysun chooses not her conscience but the dark side within her. Ece is no longer just a reflection - she has become a reality that has taken full control. When rescue teams reach the rubble, only one person remains. And that person says, with cold composure: "There is only me..."
When society stays silent, evil finds courage, darkness grows, and the gravest crimes become invisible. Harassment, violence and mobbing against women and children feed on that silence. Suppressed traumas do not disappear - over time they transform into another identity inside a person and seize control. Caught between survival and conscience, a person in their darkest moment either holds on to their humanity or surrenders to the darkness within. Günahkar tells the story of the deep but silent struggle every human being wages against the shadows of their own subconscious.
