Guitarra a Seis
Humboldtsaal im Freiburger Hof, Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany
20 €
The Guitarra a Seis ensemble opens the new season of Kultur über den Dächern: six international guitarists perform together as a single sonic body, bringing full orchestral works to the stage.
This is made possible by specially developed instruments that give the award-winning sextet a range of five and a half octaves. Major orchestral works are thus rendered true to the original, without octave transpositions - complemented by percussion.
The programme features works by Grieg, Kilar, and Rossini's overture "L'Italiana in Algeri", alongside two centrepieces: Georges Bizet's "Carmen Suite" and Manuel de Falla's ballet music "El Amor Brujo", enriched with flamenco elements in the spirit of Paco de Lucía.
Performing: Matthias Kläger, Tobias Krebs, Adam Olenczak, Edmauro de Oliveira, Harald Stampa and Jens Stibal.
