Description was written before the event

The German-Polish Youth Jazz Orchestra (DPJJO) has brought together young jazz musicians from Lower Saxony and Poland since 2004. The project has received multiple awards, including the Silesian Cultural Prize 2021.

This year the orchestra is under the artistic direction of Stephanie Lottermoser. The programme ranges from classic big band repertoire to contemporary works and is complemented by German and Polish compositions.

The concert takes place on 6 October 2026 at 18:00 in the Musikscheune of Kloster Michaelstein - as part of this year's Big Band meeting in Germany.

About the venue: Kloster Michaelstein

Kloster Michaelstein is a former Cistercian monastery near Blankenburg in the Harz region, founded in the 12th century. Today it houses a music education centre and a museum of musical instruments, and regularly hosts concerts of early and classical music. The well-preserved medieval buildings and the surrounding park give the venue a distinctive character.
