North of Now - European Premiere

Seven bodies, an empty stage, seventy minutes. Circa, the Brisbane-based ensemble founded in 2004, is regarded as one of the world's leading circus companies, touring across more than 45 countries on six continents. With North of Now, the company brings the European premiere of its latest production to fabrik Potsdam.

Directed by Yaron Lifschitz, the piece strips contemporary circus back to its core: the weight of a person resting entirely in another's hands, and the uncertainty of whether the catch will come in time. The starting point is a line by the poet Paul Celan - "In the rivers north of the future I cast the net" - and the question of how seven bodies find balance through holding each other.
