The participatory exhibition "Alberta and the ABC of Wishes" opens on 20 September 2026 from 15:00 to 18:00 at Literaturhaus Freiburg. Special guests are picture-book artist Martina Walther and Freiburg scenographer Jens Burde, who will offer a behind-the-scenes look at their work. Entry is free, and chilled sparkling water will be on hand.

The opening features a walk-in picture book called "Albertas Wunschladen", the world's largest kamishibai, a postcard-making workshop, glitter-fish crafting, and a waffle stand.

The exhibition runs from 22 September to 15 October (Tue-Fri 15:00-18:00, Sat/Sun 11:00-17:00), with kamishibai readings on weekends at 12:00 and 15:00. The morning programme for kindergartens and school classes, including picture-book cinema, is fully booked.
