Große Pause: Best of Picture Books - for educators, parents and read-aloud fans

Picture books tell simple stories full of wit, poetry and encouragement - and stay with children throughout their early years. The longer you look at them, the more layers emerge beneath the apparent simplicity.

As part of the exhibition "Alberta und das ABC der Wünsche", three experts in reading promotion - Sophia Gass, Monika Janzer and Barbara Schmider - will present their favourite picture books. The conversation will focus on the power of images and the art of reading aloud. Visitors are welcome to bring their own favourite book. A book table with tried-and-tested and newer classics invites browsing.

"Große Pause" takes place three times a year and is aimed at anyone interested in literature and how to share it with others.
