Freiburg scenographer Jens Burde transforms the Literaturhaus into a walk-through picture book for four weeks - complete with a swarm of glittering fish, Wimmelbild-style wallpapers, and illustrations you can touch. The installation is inspired by "Albertas Wunschladen" (Kunstanstifter, 2023) by Swiss illustrator Martina Walther.

Alongside the exhibition, there are readings with the world's largest kamishibai, workshops, and picture-book concerts for children aged 4 and up as well as adults. On weekends, kamishibai readings take place at 12:00 and 15:00. A free morning programme with picture-book cinema is available for kindergartens and school classes (contact: Birgit Güde, guede@literaturhaus-freiburg.de).
