FARAFINA Afrokultur-Festival 2026 - Re:Claim Y:Our Stories - Live Concerts: Yacine Rosa & OUDJÍ with Band from Cape Verde (UNESCO City of Music) | MELANE with Band

FARAFINA 2026 - Re:Claim Y:Our Stories turns Hannover into a hub for Black art, culture and memory from 27 August to 5 September. The event is organised by Afrikanischer Dachverband Norddeutschland e. V. (ADV-Nord). The programme spans concerts, readings, film screenings, exhibitions, workshops and conversations - all aimed at creating spaces for encounter, empowerment and social dialogue.

This year's focus is on decolonial memory culture, placing Black stories and perspectives at the centre. Together with partner organisations, a public archive project is being built to collect and make visible memories, photographs, documents and oral histories from Black communities. International artistic collaborations - including with Cape Verde - round out the programme.

Kulturzentrum Pavillon is one of the festival's main venues.
