FARAFINA 2026 - Re:Claim Y:Our Stories: from August 27 to September 5, Hannover becomes a space for Black art, culture, and memory. The festival by the African Umbrella Association of Northern Germany (ADV-Nord) features concerts, readings, film screenings, exhibitions, workshops, and discussions - aiming to create spaces for encounter, empowerment, and public dialogue.

This year's focus is on decolonial memory culture: Black stories and perspectives take center stage. Together with partners, a public archive project is being created to collect and make visible memories, photographs, documents, and oral histories from Black communities. This is complemented by international artistic collaborations, including with Cape Verde.

Kulturzentrum Pavillon is one of the festival's main venues.
