Şeyda Kurt: Zeit der Monster - Reading and Conversation with Fabienne Imlinger in the Girl, Woman, Other Series

Setting: a city neighbourhood. Time: the apocalypse - or so an increasing number of people believe, spurred on by a prophecy spreading through the internet. Through a wild, broken district where people hold together despite everything, young Sanya wanders with a pistol in her backpack - until she encounters a strange figure.

Following the widely acclaimed non-fiction works "Radical Tenderness" (2021) and "Hate" (2023), "Zeit der Monster" (Hanser, 2026) appeared this summer. When asked who she wrote this book for, Şeyda Kurt answers: "For everyone who hopes, and for everyone who despairs." Her debut novel explores the possibilities hidden in the collapse of existing order - intelligently, fiercely, and as "a tribute to so many lives that were never told" (Fatih Akin).
