Ton und Kirschen Wandertheater - WOYZECK by Büchner

Georg Büchner's fragment WOYZECK (1837) is a tragedy of ordinary life. Woyzeck, a poor soldier, is an outsider - exploited in a medical experiment, mocked by his superior, betrayed by his wife. In the end, he is both victim and perpetrator. The drama asks what drives a person to violence, even to murder. Büchner's deep compassion for ordinary people stirs sympathy for his protagonist and invites reflection. The entire work is suffused with Woyzeck's cry: "Every human being is an abyss; one grows dizzy looking into it."
