Shachar Lavi - mezzo-soprano

Shachar Lavi is a permanent ensemble member at the Nationaltheater Mannheim. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts with distinction at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music (Tel Aviv University), then joined the "Meitar" Opera Studio of the Israeli Opera and was an ensemble member at the Heidelberg Opera during the 2017/18-2018/19 seasons.

Recent highlights include her debut at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall (New York) and a guest appearance at the Rossini Festival in Pesaro. Her recording of G. F. Handel's cantata La Lucrezia was featured on Deutschlandfunk Kultur. The Opernwelt Yearbook 2018 nominated her as "Young Artist of the Year" for the 2017/18 season.

Lavi holds scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, the Ronen Foundation for Outstanding Israeli Artists, and the IVAI Opera Workshop - Fay Harbour Scholarship. She is also a multiple prize-winner at the Buchmann-Mehta Musikakademie vocal competitions. Her international training includes the Accademia Rossiniana under Maestro Alberto Zedda, the Ravinia Steans Music Institute - Program for Singers, Tenerife Opera Estudio, and the Israeli Vocal Arts Institute (IVAI).

She has performed with orchestras including the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra, Lautten Compagney Berlin, the Jüdische Kammerphilharmonie München, the Heidelberg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Israel Chamber Orchestra, the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra, and the Tel Aviv Soloists Ensemble.
