Leonie Swann invented the sheep detective novel - and while her debut Glennkill is just hitting cinema screens, the next instalment arrives: Widdersehen (DuMont 2026). Denis Scheck calls it the "all-in-one wonder pig of contemporary German literature": political, philosophical, animal book and crime novel all at once.
Miss Maple is back, of course, as the flock turns detective and under the banner of "Wollensstarke" sets out to solve the disappearance of shepherdess Rebecca.
Marion Bosker-von Paucker talks with Leonie Swann about the book.
