"Der Temporäre Elektronische Salon" has been taking place at various locations in Frankfurt for several years, showcasing electronic, improvised music created in the moment - with changing line-ups. Since summer 2025, the format runs regularly as part of the "Die Fabrik - Kulturwerk Frankfurt" programme with new guests each time. For special occasions, the salon appears in its most danceable form: DER SALON TANZT! Following last year's jazz festival club night at MAK, this time for the same event - with one additional instrument.
Three live musicians meet two turntables. Acoustic and electronic samples inspire each other: hybrid styles, dub drums, basslines, scratches, electronic reeds and samples ranging from art to pop - everything flows together.
Pedro Knopp, known as DJ Kosmik Kat, is recognized in the scene for his stylistic versatility and as the creative force behind formats like LAZY, Africadelay, Saravá, Super Discoteca Tropical and Tanztee. He brings his feel for global grooves, electronics and DJ craftsmanship.
Oliver Leicht has been fascinated by wind instruments and electronic effects since his school days. Since then he has worked with ensembles like Peter Herbolzheimers Rhythm Combination & Brass, Bob Brookmeyers New Art Orchestra, Zabriskie Point, [re:jazz], Die Fantastischen Vier and Ralf GUM - and co-initiated "Der Temporäre Elektronische Salon".
Hans Glawischnig, bassist of the hr-Bigband, uses the salon's electronic environment to expand his bass through effects and create sound sculptures and loops. Before becoming known for work with stars like Chick Corea or as a member of the Miguel Zenon Quartet, the electric bass was his instrument - one he happily returns to in the salon.
Matteo Scrimali combines electronic music, jazz and hip-hop in live performances.
