SARAB is a three-day festival of music, art and memory at Kulturzentrum Pavillon in Hannover.
The programme includes concerts and performances, the exhibition SEDNAYA: Syria's Architecture of Repression and Death, the film We Dare to Dream, workshops on language, translation and the future, and an open archive - a space for listening, participating, exchanging ideas or simply being together.
SARAB does not tell the story of Syria and the Southwest Asian region as a single narrative. Instead, it brings together diverse experiences that are usually expected to be explained or translated for others - here, they are meant to be seen, heard and felt on their own terms.
Everyone is welcome who wants to share this space in solidarity - against racism, exclusion, right-wing violence and all forms of discrimination. For three days, SARAB (mirage) becomes a real place.
