A little crumpled piece of paper has big dreams: to see the world, have adventures, go on a journey. The rubbish bin laughs at it - you're trash, you belong in the bin. But the crumpled paper refuses to give up and sets off on its way.

Along the road it finds friends: a one-eared cat, some friendly stars, and a circus director. But is the director really as kind as he seems? What happens in the end is still a secret - only this much: a friend, a true friend, is the best thing in the world.
