Opening of French Week 2026 - Cie Les âmes nocturnes: Au bonheur des vivants

Cie Les âmes nocturnes: Au bonheur des vivants
Pantomime, clowning, acrobatics, illusion theatre

Inspired by Buster Keaton, Gaston Lagaffe, and the Addams Family, the duo Les Âmes Nocturnes defies gravity in a show where the logic of dreams reigns. Two clowns meet in the stillness of night: she with wild hair and a grandfather-style shirt, cheeky and endearing at once - he with two black spots around his eyes, dreamy and whirling. Having landed from somewhere, these two unfortunate companions pay a fleeting visit to the world of the living.

Au bonheur des vivants is an ode to illusion: objects come to life, gravity vanishes, things escape. At the intersection of burlesque and circus, the show draws from universal imagination with humour and tenderness. The production was a crowd favourite at the Avignon Festival.
