Mendelssohn, Finzi & Dvořák: Jauchzet dem Herrn, alle Welt! - Concert by Oratorienchor Liederkranz Ravensburg e.V.

The October concert places joy and gratitude at its centre - through sacred music from the late Romantic era. The opening features two psalm settings by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy: the festive 100th Psalm and "Richte mich Gott", which moves from quiet uncertainty to radiant confidence. Gerald Finzi's Magnificat lets Mary's song of praise shine in an almost cinematic musical language.

The conclusion is Antonín Dvořák's Mass in D major op. 86 - rich in tonal colour and harmonically opulent.
