Spirit of Smokie — Kaiserbädersaal, Heringsdorf

Smokie was one of the most popular British pop-rock bands of the 1970s and 1980s, known for hits like "Living next door to Alice", "If you think you know how to love me", "Oh Carol" and "I'll meet you at midnight". The classic line-up - Chris Norman (vocals, guitar), Terry Uttley (bass, vocals), Alan Silson (guitar, vocals) and Pete Spencer (drums, vocals) - was defined by two guitars, bass, drums and outstanding vocal harmonies.

SPIRIT OF SMOKIE carries on this legacy. Frontman Dean Barton, son of Alan Barton, has inherited his father's raw and soulful voice. He is joined by guitarist Andy Whelan, a close friend of his father and longtime guitarist for Chris Norman, and bassist Graham Kearns, who has toured and recorded with Alan Barton, Sad Café and Sisters of Mercy.

Drummer Mick Bedford provides the rhythm, having toured and produced for Chris de Burgh, Sting and Elton John. The band is completed by keyboardist Jez Smith, known from the British band John Lees Barclay James Harvest.
