The year is 2070. The theatre curtain still hangs, but the show has stopped - the acting ensemble has turned the building into a retirement home. The aging performers know each other well, remember each other's quirks, and reminisce about the golden days of their stage careers: as Shakespeare's Juliet, as Chekhov's Seagull.

Only Nurse Rosa disrupts the idyll - with children's songs to sing along to and lectures about illness and death, she dampens the spirits of the "Old Stars". The moment she leaves the room, the hunger for life awakens: flirting, dancing, and above all singing.

With a sack full of immortal hits - from "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" through Maffay's "So bist Du" to "Born to be wild" - the former stage stars put on a concert, rehearsing their rebellion against mortality.
