Synagogues, like churches, are places of religious practice and social encounter - places of identification. But what does an architect do in a country where Jewish architecture was erased?
That was the question Alfred Jacoby faced when he returned to Germany in 1980 after studies in Cambridge and at ETH Zurich. His answer: he designed and built numerous synagogues. This evening he presents his work.
