Gregor Schor - Bigband - Das größte gemeinsame Vielfache — Romanfabrik, Frankfurt
Description was written before the event

Saxophonist and composer Gregor Schor presents the album "Am Grund", which takes jazz seriously both in its freedom and in its formal rigor. Schor writes with the openness of a sketcher - the pencil replaces the conductor's baton: the lines are clearly drawn, yet they allow for corrections, expansions, and spontaneity. This creates pieces that are simultaneously precisely constructed and permeable to the individual signature of each musician.

This band is not an orchestra that obediently follows orders. It is a toolkit in which everything between surgical precision and a sledgehammer exists. "Am Grund" is a jazz album that goes into depth, but not into darkness - rather to where composition and improvisation, individual and ensemble, freedom and form meet.
