Nivin and Linus both dream of making big money - for very different reasons: Nivin lives with her family in a cramped flat and needs the cash for a room of her own, while the well-off Linus simply wants to buy a pony. When the two children spot missing-pet posters for an escaped chameleon with a generous finder's reward, the plan is obvious.

Rivals at first, Nivin and Linus soon realise they only stand a chance together as they track the little creature through the urban jungle of Berlin. The search takes them to unusual places and quirky characters - and despite their very different backgrounds, a genuine friendship grows along the way.
