Much Ado About Nothing

A comedy by William Shakespeare

After the turmoil of war, Prince Don Pedro and his companions Claudio and Benedick return to the court of Governor Leonato in Messina. Barely have the weapons been laid down when another battle begins: for love, honour, and intrigue. Claudio immediately loses his heart to Hero, while Beatrice and Benedick trade barbs with each other - until a friendly scheme finally brings these two quarrelsome souls together.

In the shadow of the festivities, the envious Don John spins a plot against Hero and Claudio. Only a group of highly eccentric - though not particularly bright - constables seems capable of bringing the truth to light. Shakespeare's pointed dialogues pose a question that remains relevant today: What role does society play in our own love relationships?
