Henni Nachtsheim - De Peter kimmt! - with the Jazz Ensemble of the German State Opera Berlin
Volksbühne im Großen Hirschgraben, Frankfurt, Germany
Henni Nachtsheim, one half of the comedy duo Badesalz, tells the story of an artist whose washing machine breaks down at the worst possible moment - just when he desperately needs to wash his stage wardrobe. Forced to visit a laundromat, he meets an elderly woman who coldly cheats him while changing his ten-euro note. She draws him into conversations - sometimes funny, sometimes thoughtful - and gradually, against his will, an unlikely friendship develops between them.
The programme is accompanied by the Jazz Ensemble of the German State Opera Berlin: Christian Meyers (trumpet), Martin Johnson (piano), Sebastian Krol (trombone), Christoph Niemann (bass) and Rüdiger Ruppert (drums) have selected pieces to match the texts and arranged them in their own style.
