IKS Big Band: Big Swing is back in Town!

The IKS Big Band from Rüsselsheim am Main has been the embodiment of Big Swing for 40 years: legendary standards by Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman are core to their repertoire, alongside rare works, unusually arranged crowd-pleasers and new compositions - sometimes even from their own ranks.

Through collaborations with jazz greats like James Moody, Mike Smith, Jiggs Whigham, Scott Hamilton, Bobby Shew and Paul Kuhn, the band has honed its sound over the decades. Led by Hessian Jazz Prize winner Horst Aussenhof, the ensemble also features the band's own vocal quartet, the "Horstinetten". In 2026, IKS Big Band celebrates 40 years of existence.

The band regularly draws swing dancers from across the region, who seize every chance to take the dance floor with them.
