Macbeth

William Shakespeare's drama about deadly ambition and the lust for power.

Eleven-century Scotland: Three witches prophesy to the general Macbeth that he will become King of Scotland. Spurred on by his ruthless wife, he decides to murder the reigning king - but the coveted throne demands further murders and slander. When Macbeth finally achieves his goal, he is merely a shadow of himself, driven by the fear that his crimes will be exposed or the ghosts of the murdered will take revenge on him.

Consumed by ambition and the hunger for power, Macbeth and his wife know no moral boundaries - and literally walk over corpses.
