Landesbühnen Sachsen - Rumpelstiltskin

Musical puppet theatre based on the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm
Stage adaptation by Klaus-Peter Fischer | from age 7

The miller is delighted that his mill will soon run itself - "progress" makes everything possible, even spinning straw into gold. But the miller's daughter sees it differently: when the king learns of the miracle and locks her among sacks of straw to make it happen, she faces a problem. She can sing beautifully, but spin straw into gold? That she cannot do.

A little man watches her despair and helps her - but not without a price. Whether it is only about wealth and power, or about something quite different, perhaps more valuable than gold, is what this play reveals.
