Then Life Happens

Approved for ages 6 and up.

Hans, a school principal on the verge of retirement, lives with his wife Rita more like a guest in her home. Their son left long ago, their marriage follows a well-worn routine - and Rita sees no reason to change anything. New bathroom tiles are change enough for her.

Then old wounds surface. Both realize how little they know about their son's life. And suddenly it's unclear whether they are still a couple or have become two solitary people. But then life happens…

Director Neele Leana Vollmar tells a story about the big questions hidden in the quiet moments of everyday life - starring Anke Engelke ("Perfekt Verpasst", MUTTER, "Deutsches Haus") and Ulrich Tukur (UND WER NIMMT DEN HUND?, AUS DEM NICHTS, JOHN RABE).
