Figurentheater Unterwegs - Nils Karlsson Däumling
Mauerwerk, Herrenberg, Germany
A puppet theatre piece based on the fairy tale by Astrid Lindgren - for everyone from age 4.
Bertil is deeply sad since his grandfather is no longer there. But in Grandpa's toolbox something creaks and rumbles - and indeed someone lives there: a tiny man named Nils. From then on, everything becomes an adventure: heating, eating, going to bed, even washing feet. A tender piece about the greatness of friendship.
"...before the eyes of the amazed audience, she transformed from the large Bertil, whom she herself portrayed so charmingly in a red wool hat, into a small Bertil. He was now only as big as a hand and made of wood, just like his friend Nils. This created a concentrated yet light and poetic production that made the dreary weather disappear for an hour."
