Club der toten Dichter - "Galgenlieder" - Christian Morgenstern Newly Composed
33 €
Club der toten Dichter celebrates its 20th anniversary with a jubilee programme dedicated to Christian Morgenstern (1871-1914). Reinhardt Repke has newly composed the Galgenlieder - the club's eighth programme.
Morgenstern himself described his "gallows poetry" as a piece of worldview: when you look at the world from the gallows, you see it differently and should gain "a bit of spiritual lightness, cheerfulness, freedom". Poems like "Der Lattenzaun", "Das Mondschaf" and "Der Werwolf" are long since legendary - Tucholsky put it perfectly: you laugh until you cry, then admire the deep lyricism that turns into a joke at the last moment, and in the end you realise you have learned something philosophical.
Actor Hans-Werner Meyer, known from "Letzte Spur Berlin" and "Baader Meinhof Komplex", will perform as a guest vocalist. He will not only sing but also play the violin. Bassist Markus Runzheimer (Element of Crime) returns and this time also handles percussion. Reinhardt Repke plays guitar.
The accompanying album will be released in early 2026 on CD, vinyl and digitally.
Line-up:
Hans-Werner Meyer - vocals, violin
Markus Runzheimer - bass, percussion, vocals
