NEW PROGRAMME

"When satire dies, humanity has only four years left to live," Albert Einstein said to his cat, coffee in hand. "But if - loosely following Tucholsky - satire is allowed to do anything," purred the cat, "then it's allowed to die too." Friedemann Weise dreamed this scene on a regional train heading to Somewhere-or-other - and suddenly knew what his fifth solo programme would be called: Satire Seeks a Home. A deliberately clumsy wordplay that doesn't stand out in the cabaret scene, but brings a smile to his own face.

In two 50-minute sets, the Cologne-based author, satirist and musical comedian shows satire why life is worth living - armed with a guitar, canvas and his human miniature clone Friedemännchen.

Friedemann Weise is a multi-award-winning cabaret artist and has been a permanent member of the heute-show ensemble since 2019. His radio comedy "History hautnah" has been broadcast weekly on WDR2 since 2021, and his mini-radio plays are regularly featured in "Satire deluxe" on WDR5. As a writer, he works for heute show, extra3, Titanic magazine and KROYMANN, among others. In Cologne's "Stadtrevue" he also runs a photo column.
