The Town Musicians of Bremen

A donkey, a dog, a cat, and a rooster share one thing in common: all four have been abandoned by their owners. The animal quartet decides to stay together and set off to Bremen as a musical group. A wild, sometimes dangerous, and often very funny journey begins.

For Junge Bühne Mainz, this production marks a debut: Laszlo Quast, an actor and graduate of the Mainz School of Acting (2025), directs for the first time here. He has been performing with the independent theatre ensemble since 2024 - most recently as the Sultan and Lala in "Kristallpalst & Diamantschiff" and since autumn 2025 as Zamparello in "Die dumme Augustine". He also creates his own theatrical productions as a freelance stage artist.

In his own stage adaptation, Quast retells the folk tale known from the Brothers Grimm with dynamism, music, and wit, offering a fresh perspective on the material.
