North of Now

Seven bodies, an empty stage, seventy minutes. CIRCA ranks among the world's leading circus companies: the ensemble has been based in Brisbane since 2004 and has performed in over 45 countries across six continents. North of Now brings the world premiere of the Company's latest production to fabrik Potsdam.

Under the direction of Yaron Lifschitz, North of Now reduces contemporary circus to its essence - the weight of a human body resting entirely in another's hands, and the uncertainty of whether the catch will succeed in time. The starting point is a verse by poet Paul Celan: "In the rivers north of the future I cast my net." In this spirit, seven bodies seek balance through the miracle of mutual support - and something that transcends the moment.
