Germany, late 1940s: Three women dream of performing a concert before the Queen in the gardens of Buckingham Palace - but first they must win a singing competition. At the auditions they meet: Rosa, a German language teacher; Käthe, a seamstress with opera training; and Hilde, a milkmaid and yodeller, a natural talent through and through. Everything can work out only if Fräulein Wunder joins them.

A women's band is to be formed - or so insists Captain John McGintley, organizer of the "Anglo-German-Swing Festival". Murat Yeginer tells this story with a wink: humorous yet melancholic and touching, accompanied by numerous songs from the 1930s and 1940s.
