The Emperor's New Clothes — Reithalle im Kulturforum, Offenburg

Theater Mimikri tells the famous tale as a funny, romantic fairy-tale mystery for children: Has Emperor Clemens gone mad? He struts across the palace square in nothing but his underwear! Emperor Clemens is obsessed with clothes - he believes only magnificent garments can impress his people. The country is broke, the master of ceremonies and finance minister are at their wits' end, and at night his clothes already haunt him in his dreams. Seamstress Elsa and weaver Walter desperately await their payment.

But necessity breeds invention: Two experts in magical and fashionable imperial garments appear at the palace. They promise especially splendid clothes that remain invisible to people who are stupid or unfit for their office. The audience experiences in colorful costumes how the clothes come alive in the majesty's dreams - and how the clothes-obsessed, shy emperor is ultimately saved by a trick and a small child.

A fairy-tale play with loom music and clothing magic. Family theatre from age 5.
